There are 1.1 billion smokers in the world today, the number is expected to increase to 1.6 billion by the year 2025. About 10,000 people in Malaysia lose their lives due to tobacco smoking each year.The chance of developing lung cancer has soared since the mass production of cigarettes. Almost 60 percent of all people diagnosed with lung cancer will die within one year of the diagnosis.
It is never too late to stop it.
World No Tobacco Day will be launched throughout the whole month of May 2014 to raise the awareness of health risks associated with cigarette smoking. Let us get rid of the harmful effect of smoking by making a change on ourselves as well as our family and friends. Don’t put yourself in an early grave. Quit smoking before it kills you.
